Daily Strattera dose is taken orally once a day.
For children of body weight under 70 kg:
- It is recommended to start the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder with the minimum daily Strattera dose of 0.5mg per 1 kg of the child’s weight.
- In three days or later a daily Strattera dose is to be increased to 1.2mg per 1 kg of the child’s weight.
- If taking 1.2mg/kg/day dose of Strattera does not provide improvements of the child’s state, a dose of Strattera can be increased to the maximum dose of 1.8mg/kg/day (but not higher 120mg/day).
- The maximum daily Strattera dose is indicated only if any side-effects are not observed and not earlier than in 2-4 weeks after the treatment was started.
For children with body weight of over 70 kg and for adults:
- It is recommended to start the treatment of ADHD from the minimum daily dose of 40 mg.
- Not earlier than in 3 days, a daily Strattera dose is increased to 80mg.
- Maximum daily Strattera dose shouldn’t exceed 120mg.
- If a single dose of Strattera causes adverse side-effects, a daily Strattera dose can be divided into 2 parts.
Strattera can be indicated to patients with chronic liver disease under a usual administration scheme.
